Follow the three-mission run and World Boss sequence, understand locked Loadouts, and check documented fixes for stuck objectives and co-op pickups.

One complete run, step by step

  1. Prepare before Mission 1. Choose the default Loadout you want to carry into the Ward; it stays fixed during the active run.
  2. Complete Mission 1. Keep useful temporary gear and Boons, then return to Sanctus Clypeus to recover and select the next assignment.
  3. Complete Missions 2 and 3. Each mission continues the same run, so the gear and Boons found along the way form the current build.
  4. Defeat the World Boss. Victory—or death/abandoning the run—ends the run and restores full Loadout access for the next attempt.

Why the Loadout Station can look locked

A return to the Church between missions is not the end of a run. The developer describes the sequence as Mission 1 → Mission 2 → Mission 3 → World Boss. The Loadout Station becomes available after the run ends; abandoning early restarts the next run from Mission 1.

Before entering the next mission

  • Read each temporary Boon and confirm its displayed effect.
  • Use the War Table only after the party is ready to continue the current run.
  • In co-op, confirm both players still have the expected gear and Boons before advancing.

Stuck objective or intended run rule?

First note the mission, exact objective text, installed version and whether you are the host or guest. The checks below are editorial troubleshooting advice; the fixes are developer-reported changes in Hotfix 1.0.2 (September 30), not a guarantee that every progression problem is resolved.

The Loadout Station is locked after returning to the Church

Check whether you have finished the World Boss or merely returned between missions. The latter is still the same run. Continue with the gear and Boons collected during that run, or deliberately abandon knowing your next attempt starts at Mission 1. Do not treat abandoning as a cost-free station refresh.

“Clear the Area” has almost finished, but no enemy is visible

The 1.0.2 notes report fixes for missing enemies near objective completion and enemies failing to navigate toward the player. They also identify an out-of-the-way Skeleton Warrior in Forsaken Streets that frequently blocked a kill objective.

Next check: confirm your client includes 1.0.2 or a later update, then recheck the current objective and accessible area. If it remains blocked, record the location and objective counter for a bug report. The notes do not establish a guaranteed reset command, secret route or restart workaround.

The co-op guest cannot collect a Lore Scroll

Hotfix 1.0.2 specifically addresses second-player Lore Scroll collection and related quest progression. Check both players' installed versions and compare their quest state. If the problem persists, include host/guest roles and the affected scroll in the report; do not assume the guest is intentionally excluded from this progress.

A Relic quest or pickup stops progressing

The same patch reports fixes for Relic quests not working and Relics falling below the world on death. Check the quest text and record whether death preceded the missing pickup. This is evidence of a fixed bug category, not evidence that losing access to a Relic is an intended progression cost.

Before the next attempt

  • If the run ended normally, review your starting Loadout before entering Mission 1; use the build guide to understand permanent versus run-specific choices.
  • If an objective failed, record the exact symptom before repeating the same route. Compare it with the patch notes.
  • If only one co-op player is affected, include both players' versions and roles; see co-op guidance.

Quick answers

How many missions are in a Crimson Moon run?
A full run consists of three Ward missions followed by a World Boss. Returning to the Church between missions is part of the run, not its ending.
Why is the Loadout Station unavailable?
It becomes available after the World Boss or when the run ends in death. A mid-run Church return does not reset that lock.
